Role
Lead Product Designer
Studio
Ceros’s core product, Studio is a no-code canvas based creative platform that empowers users to create interactive content.
Editor
Studio’s companion product, Editor simplifies the interface for non-designers by hiding advanced features like the layers panel.
While this reduces complexity, it also makes selecting nested elements on the canvas difficult for users.
Problem
Selecting the nested layers on the canvas was harder than it should be, especially in Editor.
When elements were nested inside groups, users had to repeatedly click through layers to reach the element they wanted. In Studio, designers could rely on the layers panel. In Editor, users had to rely entirely on canvas interactions.
This made simple edits, like updating text, frustrating and time-consuming.
Results since launch
✅ 83% faster access to nested elements
✅ Reduced task abandonment during text editing
✅ Improved editing confidence for non-designers using Editor
✅ Simplified mental model for interacting with grouped content
🌐 Because of its success across Studio and Editor, this selection model was adopted for Flex, Ceros’s newest product
