The Problem

Problem: Designers on enterprise teams were overwhelmed by simple requests from marketing and sales, creating bottlenecks and slowing content delivery.
Why it mattered: This friction blocked enterprise adoption and contributed to churn.
Why it was hard: Legacy permissions, outdated infrastructure, and conflicting user roles created deep system-level complexity.

My Role & Ownership

Owned: End-to-end UX from discovery through launch
Led: Problem framing, design prioritization and overall design direction
Partnered with: Product, engineering, and GTM on scope and rollout

Key insights:

  • Permissions needed to be foundational, not an afterthought

  • “Collaboration” meant very different things across roles

  • Preview had to be real-time to support confident editing

  • Non-designers needed guardrails, not flexibility

Key Design Moves

  • Moved preview onto the canvas → Enabled real-time feedback and reduced friction from context switching

  • Simplified the UI → Made the editor approachable for non-designers

  • Unified the collaboration mental model → Reduced permission errors and user confusion

Results:

  • 22% adoption in first month

  • Of the 16.9K users, 19% are active weekly Editor users

  • Unblocked 18 enterprise deals
